In fact, it’s not just the carnival that has all the fun but all the pre carnival events too. The competition for carnival king and queen begins, alongside rehearsals, band and groups and even some samba school rehearsals so you can join in the fun weeks in advance in preparation for the one of the most exciting holidays around.

The Rio De Janiro Carnaval (Carnival) is filled with dancing, music and street parades with a plentiful supply of floats and ways for you to join in on the fun. There are plenty of street group rehearsals going on especially in districts such as Gávea, Ipanema and Leblon where you can buy a t-shirt and start dancing before the festivals begins.
