The Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in Jackson Township, New Jersey USA, currently holds the title for tallest roller coaster ride with the attraction Kingda Ka which wins hands down against other continuous circuit steel roller coasters. This has been the very best, tallest of the tallest roller coaster since May 2005 at a whopping 465 feet high. That’s an extra 45 feet above it’s predecessor the Top Thrill Dragster which held the title for two years before the Kingda Ka stole it away. This roller coaster ride also holds the title for the tallest drop at 418 feet (18 feet more than the Top Thrill Dragster.

If you are a surfing enthusiast this is definately the place to be. Hawaii is famous for it’s perfect large waves and swells espcially on the North Shore. The wave season is generally between October to March and each of the Hawaii islands get’s their own fair share of the surfing pie but the North Shore in Hawaii is definitely the creme de la creme of surfing.  You don’t have to be a surfer to enjoy Hawaii though. One of the most exciting events of the year is the Rio De Janiro carnival in Brazil which happens on a Sunday around the end of February or beginning of march. In fact, it’s not just the carnival that has all the fun but all the pre carnival events too. The competition for carnival king and queen begins, alongside rehearsals, band and groups and even some samba school rehearsals so you can join in the fun weeks in advance in preparation for the one of the most exciting holidays around.

The Rio De Janiro Carnaval (Carnival) is filled with dancing, music and street parades with a plentiful supply of floats and ways for you to join in on the fun. There are plenty of street group rehearsals going on especially in districts such as Gávea, Ipanema and Leblon where you can buy a t-shirt and start dancing before the festivals begins.

One of the most popular European theme parks today is the Efteling situated in what is now called the Netherlands. The Efteling was in fact the first theme park to be constructed in Europe and has remained very much the same as it has always been with a few more modern additions.
